Attorney Chris Carlyle was quoted in an article in the Florida Bar News concerning the proposed legislation in the Florida legislature that would impose term limits on appellate judges.  Mr. Carlyle spoke before the House Civil Justice Subcommittee on November 3, 2015.  As the article notes, he suggested to the subcommittee members that they consider certain questions, such as, “Is there a value that comes from the experience of being on the bench for a number of years?  Is that shared by the senior members with the newer members?”  Mr. Carlyle spoke on his own behalf, and not as the Chair of the Appellate Practice Section, which has yet to take a formal position on the bill.
